The Scent

Inspired by Tom Ford Black Orchid

Bold and mysterious, this fragrance weaves together peppered florals and deep woods in a rich, dramatic composition. Vibrant Italian bergamot and cracked black pepper open with brightness and spice, unfolding into a lush heart of black orchid, jasmine, and spiced plum. It settles into a warm, smoky base of patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla, amber, and musk — alluring, complex, and unforgettable.

Our volcanic stone diffusers work through a process called passive diffusion - and understanding how they work makes all the difference in getting the best experience from your homes newest addition.

​How the science works:​
Volcanic stone is naturally porous, when you add your fragrance oil, the pores absorb and hold the oil, then slowly release the scent molecules into the surrounding air over time - no heat, no water, no electricity required. Because there's no powered mechanism pushing the scent outward, the diffusion is gentle and continuous rather than instant and intense.

What to expect:​
I recommend adding 6–8 drops of fragrance oil directly onto the diffuser ball. In a smaller space, you'll notice a noticeable, present scent for 6-12 hours after applying your oil (this will vary depending on room size and airflow) In calmer, enclosed spaces you can expect a soft lingering aroma for up to 24-48 hours Natural airflow - like a heater or air conditioner running - helps carry the scent further into the space.

Getting the best from yours:​
The volcanic stone diffuser is best suited to smaller or more intimate spaces: a bedroom, bathroom, powder room, or home office. Steam in bathrooms in particular can really help lift and disperse the scent beautifully. In larger rooms like a living or dining area, I personally keep mine on the coffee table or dining table and find I can smell it clearly from around a metre away - especially when there's airflow from heating or cooling. It's more of a personal or close-proximity fragrance experience in those settings rather than a whole-room fill.

As the diffuser isn't powered by electricity or water, it won't fill a large open room the way a plug-in or ultrasonic diffuser would, but in the right space the scent is lovely and long-lasting.
